Donald Dwight Rector, 89

Donald Dwight Rector, 89, of Clarion, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

He was born on September 1, 1934 in Hampton, Iowa to Charlie and Jennie Rector. He spent his youth living in the Hampton and Alexander area and graduated from Alexander High School in 1952.  He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran.

On June 7, 1958 he was married to Alice McNamara of Nora Springs, Iowa.  They moved to Clarion in 1959 and have resided here since.  To this union four children were born, Dwight, Lori, Kyle and Eric.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alice; children Dwight (Mary) Rector, Lori (John) Whitnell, Kyle (Michelle) Rector and Eric (Cyndi) Rector; many grandchildren and great grandchildren Aaron (Nichole) Rector and their children Logan, Londyn and Brooke, Michael (Abby) Rector and their children Stella and Luna, Brad (LauraLeigh) Whitnell and their children Lucy and David, Ben (Lindsey) Whitnell and their children Emerson and Isla, Jessie (Randall) Marvets and their children Liam and Lyndi, Alyssa (Ryne) Standridge and their child Macklin, Amy (Brandon Sr.) and their child Brandon Jr., Mackenzie (Brandon) Rector and their children Keegan and Alexander, Madison (Junior) Recotr and their child Myles with a new baby due in June of 2024, Maycie and Mason (Nikki) Rector and their children Mitchell and Evelyn.  

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Jennie Rector, one brother Harold Rector, two sisters Doris Coonradt and Eleanor Pitts. 

Per Donald’s wishes he will be cremated with no services. Any memorials may be directed to his family for a later memorial to honor him.
