Dennis Dodd, 78

Dennis Dodd, 78, of Forest City, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. Funeral services will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton.

Dennis Roy Dodd was born on May 2, 1944 to Harold R. and Helen Lavonne (McDowell) Dodd at the Lutheran Hospital in Hampton. He attended school in Rockwell through the 8th grade. The family then moved to Palmer, Iowa where Dennis graduated high school in 1962. He then attended Fort Dodge Junior College, graduating in 1964. Dennis then went to Wayne State Teachers College and graduated with a BA Degree.

He was drafted and inducted into the U.S. Army in August of 1967. He served in Vietnam under the 101st Airborne. He was honorably discharged in August 1969.

Upon returning home, Dennis was employed at Winnebago in Forest City. He also had a house painting business in the Forest City area. Dennis retired from Winnebago in 2006.

Dennis is survived by his daughters Kimberly and Danyel, adopted children Scott, Tammy and Kenneth, brother Dean (Jean) Dodd of Hampton, Iowa, sister Mary (Jon) Weber of Palmer, Iowa nieces and nephews Laura Weber, Melissa (Steve) Groe, Doug (Jennifer) Dodd Bob Weber and Dwight Dodd.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister Rita.
