Acting Franklin County Emergency Management Coordinator Thomas Craighton last week submitted his resignation from the position.
Craighton, who assumed the position in July of 2013, has accepted a new job in the same role in Hardin County. Hardin County has been without an Emergency Management Coordinator since July of 2018.
Franklin County Sheriff Aaron Dodd, who chairs the Franklin County Emergency Management Commission board, said the board will begin searching for a replacement and discuss how to move forward in the meantime.
“We will make a board decision on what that process will look like and we’ll get moving forward right away,” he said. “We will make a decision how to fill it. We’ll look at what everyone wants to do, how long we want the application process to be…we’ll has that out.”
