Cougars reach regional final

COLO –The streaking AGWSR girls’ basketball team raced past Colo-NESCO, 67-38, during a Class 1A Region 3 semi-final contest here Friday.
The No. 14 Cougars uncorked scoring sprees of 10-0, 8-0, 16-0 and 9-0 in the romp over the Royals, and posted an 11th consecutive victory.
The first scoring spree propelled AGWSR to a 12-7 lead after one quarter, going from down three early to up 12-5. Mandy Willems’ four-point play ignited the run with a three-ball and free throw after the foul.
Both team’s showed nerves early as the Cougars’ Mariah Jimmerson scored the game’s first basket at the 5:54 mark of the first.
