Cougars get out-rebounded but prevail over Belmond-Klemme

ACKLEY – In spite of being out-rebounded by non-conference foe Belmond-Klemme, AGWSR’s girls’ basketball team found a way to win at home on Thursday, Jan. 28.
The Cougars got some key blocks and were 6-of-9 from the free throw line in the final minute to earn the 59-54 win over the visiting Broncos.
“Our rebounding, at times, is poor,” AGWSR coach Laurie Gann said. “That’s all I can say. It’s just a habit that we’ve been so bad about watching and not getting into position. Timing has not been very good, so add that (B-K center Jackee Meyer) being 6-foot, and our tallest is 5-9, that is not a good thing..."
