Complete turnaround dooms Bulldogs

HAMPTON – Leading 18-5 at halftime, Hampton-Dumont had the tables completely turned on them against Clarion-Goldfield in this 34-33 North Central Conference loss in a makeup game on Thursday, Jan. 24.
The Cowgirls were not making shots in the first half and in fact didn’t make their first shot from the field – a three-pointer – until 26 seconds remained in the first half.
That changed drastically in the second half as C-G-D was 9-of-18 from the field in the second half. The Cowgirls also shot 8-of-10 from the free throw line after the break.
“We ran low on defensive energy,” H-D coach Miranda Valley said. “It wasn’t there and they gained the momentum and then we’re battling back the whole time..."
