Cody Michael Bertram

Cody Michael Bertram passed away on July 27, 2025. He was born in Waverly, Iowa on August 2, 1991, and was a resident of Dumont, Iowa. His passing will leave an enormous void in our hearts, forever. Cody was brave, bold, trustworthy, and stood tall on all the things that he believed in.  He will always be known for his big heart, his kindness, his love he poured out to his loved ones-including strangers, and his genuine effort to stay loyal to anyone he encountered.   

Cody is survived by his parents Valerie Moore and Michael (Tiffany) Bertram, both of Dumont; daughter, Finley of Ackley; brother, Justin of Waterloo; sister, Staci(Matt) Petersen of New Hartford; aunts and uncles, Erica of Waterloo, Tammy (Calvin) Krull of Clarksville, Jamie (Terry) Crawford of Allison, Matt (Lori) Bertram of Algona; Paternal Grandmother, Kathy Bertram of Dumont, Maternal Grandmother Joan Homer of Dumont; nieces and nephews; and lastly, cousins. 

Cody is preceded in death by his Grandfather’s Tom Homer, Kenny Bertram, and his Uncle Jeffrey Bertram. 

A few things he would want all of us to remember are to stay true to yourself and to be the person that lends a helping hand. We’ve all shown that nobody in this life is perfect, but in those times that Cody could help, he always made sure he was willing to put other needs in front of his own.  

While we may never understand why God decided to take Cody so soon, we may feel peace in our hearts as time goes on knowing that he was welcomed with open arms through those Golden Gates. Although we may feel a void for quite some time, we will always have those memories of the joy he brought into our lives to overcome the pain in our hearts.  

Cody, you will be greatly missed and please know that the time you had on this earth, you were loved beyond measures.
