Cheryl Ann Crandall, 71

Cheryl Ann Crandall, 71, of Hampton, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at the Sheffield Care Center. She was born February 11, 1950, in Faribault, Minnesota, to Francis and Gloria (Schuller) Lawler.

Cheryl graduated from Hampton High School and continued her education at Hamilton Business College in Mason City. She was united in marriage to Michael Ross Crandall on April 17, 1971, in Fort Dodge. To this union, three children were born: Tara, Tyson and Tenae.

Cheryl worked at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for 42 years, upon her retirement in 2015. She was affiliated with the Catholic Church. Cheryl enjoyed crafting and putting photo albums together, documenting every single picture. You could find her wearing her moo-moo, kicked back in her leather La-Z-Boy chair watching TV. Cheryl had a great friend group; they would meet up every month for lunch dates.

Cheryl is survived by her children Tara (Scot) Surprenant of Altoona, Tyson (Holly) Crandall of Ames and Tenae (Adam) Crandall of Hampton; mother Gloria Lawler of Fort Dodge; husband Mike Crandall; grandchildren Jade (Nathan) Daniels, Jace Surprenant, Makayla Newman, Olivia Steele, Cael Surprenant, Ryne Surprenant, Broc Surprenant, Kamden Windelow, Macy Windelow, Emmy Windelow, Noelle Steele, Ayden Steele and Amiya Johnson; great-grandson Hendrix Daniels; nieces and nephews Jim (Kris) Sweet, Mike (Dawn) Sweet, Sean Wolfe, Pat Wolfe, Stephanie (Mark) McGaffin, Meghan (Nathan) Miller, Lindsay (Justin) Grady and Allison (Dave) Rial.

She was preceded in death by her father Francis Lawler, brother Tim Lawler, in-laws Raymond and Lucille Crandall and great-grandson Mavrick Daniels.

A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Visitation followed from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
