Hampton enjoyed a "Taste of Franklin County" on Saturday as the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Chamber Apprecia-tion Night.
Guests were invited to en-joy samplings from nine area food providers, giving a taste of what they have to offer. Restaurant La Amigita started things off with chips and salsa; with tamales from La Frontara rounding out the Hispanic cuisine. Country Heritage Bed & Breakfast served up pork loin and pasta, complimented by beef brisket from the Frank-lin County Cattlemen and beef & barley soup from Seven Stars Family Restaurant. Chicken was on the menu from The Garage Tavern and B&C Kitchen, respectively offering hot wings and sweet and sour chicken with their contribu-tions. And for desert, Sweet Moments Bakery and Korner Bakery placed tables of cup-cakes, doughnuts, and cookies for an after dinner treat.
After dinner, chamber direc-tor Newton Grotzinger hosted a recognition ceremony to honor the many members and volunteers that work with the chamber to accomplish their various projects and activities.
"We're encouraged by our membership and the people that came out here to help us out," said Grotzinger. "I could stand up here all night and recognize the many members we have that contributed to this even-ing."
