As the last graduating class of CAL High School prepares to take its next steps, students on Friday heard poignant words from one of their predecessors.
“Take it in, enjoy it and don’t wish for time to go too fast,” said 2015 CAL graduate Brooke Mensing, who spoke at the Community Send-Off for the CAL Class of 2018 at the Latimer Community Center.
The event was a chance for the community to wish this year’s graduating class well and hear from students their plans after high school graduation.
Mensing, who began at CAL as a preschooler, told seniors that no matter what they decide to do after graduation, they must never take for granted the journey in front of them.
“Don’t ever let the fear of failure keep you from following your dreams,” she said. “Take the jump. If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.”
