CAL honors elementary students on last day

     A group of excited youngsters gathered in the CAL auditorium on the final day of school last Friday for for the annual Elementary Awards Assembly.

     CAL Superintendent/Elementary Principal Dwight Widen kicked off the ceremony with a welcoming address to the K-5 student body. Widen recapped some of the year’s highlights and also encouraged the kids to keep reading throughout the summer.

     However, Friday’s assembly wasn’t only for the students.

     "Give your teachers all kinds of hugs of thanks today for all the times they've helped you," Widen said.
