With tears streaming down her face, teacher Jane Halladay offered a bit of personal advice to CAL’s graduating seniors during Sunday’s commencement ceremony.
“I’m walking proof that it is never too late to make a change,” she said. “When you leave this building for the last time today, I want you to leave your regrets, your burdens, your poor choices, and your poor conduct behind and make a fresh start.”
The emotional remark was one of many shared during the sendoff. Parents, family members and friends gathered in the CAL gymnasium to celebrate the Class of 2016 one last time before bidding their final farewell. Once it was all said and done, 14 seniors were handed their diplomas and dispatched into the world.
The ceremony got underway with a welcome from 6-12 Principal Scott Striegel. He commended the seniors for their hard work and urged them to keep chasing their dreams.
