CAL board accepts Widen’s resignation; discusses future of football

The CAL Board of Education accepted the resignation of Superintendent/Elementary Principal Dwight Widen during its regular meeting Nov. 10. The resignation will take effect when his contract expires on June 30.

     Widen cited personal reasons in his letter to the board. He joined the district in 2012 and said he enjoyed the past three years at CAL.

     “Everything that I thought would occur when I got here did,” he said after the meeting. “There’s a lot of community support, and the work ethic among the students and staff is great. It’s exactly what you would hope for in a district.”
