Cadets earn first win of season despite penalty kicks

LATIMER – Cesar Damas likes to play physical.
The senior soccer player for CAL/H-D/B-K can’t play any other way, even though he knows he recently broke his nose toward the end of basketball season, ending that season early.
But it certainly wasn’t going to stop him from playing soccer and the way he plays it: getting one of his two goals on a header off of a corner kick in the Cadets’ 6-4 victory over Grand View Christian on Monday, April 23.
“There were a few (doubts about going out),” Damas said, “and I thought I was going to wear a mask, but then it got all better and I felt fine about it..."
