HAMPTON – For the second time in three days, Hampton-Dumont softball held a lead against Fort Dodge St. Edmond.
And once more the Gaels, recently ranked No. 14 in Class 1A with a 14-5 record, came back to dash the Bulldogs hopes against them, this time at home, in a 5-2, nine-inning affair on Friday June 15.
H-D trailed 2-0 until the sixth inning when Bulldog right fielder Briana Grover hit a two-run homer in the sixth, eventually forcing extra innings.
The full story appears in the June 20 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
