CEDAR FALLS – Saddled with foul trouble and a technical foul assessed to coach Chad Johnson within the final few minutes of the first half completely switched momentum in the Class 3A regional final on Saturday night.

No. 10-ranked Hampton-Dumont lost 38-33 against No. 13 Center Point-Urbana at the Cedar Falls gymnasium, denying the Bulldogs a trip to the state tournament.

The Bulldogs led 19-4 until the Stormin’ Pointers started to make a run, a turnover and then a foul on Kennedy Wohlford sparked some ire from Johnson, who was assessed a technical, however, he says he didn’t say anything deserving of the foul.
