MASON CITY – After upsetting the higher seed, Algona, in the Class 3A regional quarterfinal on the road, Hampton-Dumont’s softball team couldn’t get past Iowa Falls-Alden in the semifinal at a neutral site last week.

The Cadets scored two runs in the opening inning and tacked on a couple more in the fourth before the Bulldogs could answer with one in the fifth in a 4-1 loss to end the season at 13-15.

Kylie Voy gave up seven hits, a walk and struck out five and the defense committed five errors at Mason City on Friday, July 7.
