HAMPTON – Sometimes winning a dual comes down to the flip of a coin.

When Class 1A No. 4 Clarion-Goldfield won the coin toss, it got the chance to send its wrestlers out after Hampton-Dumont did in a big North Central Conference dual that came down to strategizing more than anything else in a close 37-36 loss for the Bulldogs.

It turned to the Cowboys favor with three matches to go when freshman Parker Allen checked in at 106 and rather than have another freshman, Connor Johnson, face Allen they sent out top-ranked Justin Portillo....
