Board of Supervisors Takes Neutral Stance On Clean Line

The Franklin County Board of Supervisors discussed the perception of the county's stance on the Rock Island Clean Line during their regular meeting on Monday, May 5.

     In 2012, the Board of Supervisors passed a resolution declaring their approval for Rock Island Clean Line to make their offer to Franklin County residents. This resolution was not intended to be an endorsement of the power line project, but rather permission for Clean Line to make their proposal. However, that resolution has been invoked beyond its intent.

     "This resolution didn't stay in the county," said Supervisor Corey Eberling. "This resolution went down to the State Utilities Board."
