Big run completes outcome in Coaches vs. Cancer game

HAMPTON — Twice during the boys’ portion of the Coaches vs. Cancer game between Hampton-Dumont and visiting West Fork the score was within reach.
Both times, the Warhawks used a run, the latter a huge one to put this one away, 62-30, on Saturday, Jan. 19.
The first was a 9-0 run in the final two minutes, 19 seconds with West Fork leading 19-18 before it. The last a 32-26 score with 3:23 to go in the third.
“We talked about that during the game,” H-D coach Heath Walton said. “That is the thing we found most confusing is that with three minutes left in the third quarter, a six-point game turns into 32..."
