DES MOINES — AGWSR junior 120-pounder Trey Lashbrook earned his second state semifinal with a 7-3 decision over Mount Ayr’s Bryce Shaha on Friday afternoon.

He faces the top remaining seed, Lisbon freshman Brandon Paez (42-6) and ranked seventh via The Predicament.

“I’m not done, I’ve got two more matches: I’ve got the semifinal and the final,” Lashbrook said after his match. “My very first semifinal, I was facing (three-time state champion Adam) Allard. I went out there and gave it everything I had. I rode him for two and a half periods. I think I’m going to be more comfortable in this match.”

Two first period takedowns were the difference in this one. Shaha earned two escape points and got a point on stalling with 38 seconds left.

“I kept in control which is my big focus,” said Lashbrook.
