Access, Inc.'s Main Street store to close

Access, Incorporated on Thursday announced it will close the doors to its Pre-Vocational Program community store on Main Street by Feb. 28 due to lack of interest.
The Pre-Vocational Program was expected to encourage community employment. Many individuals who were working at the store have located jobs in the community.
"The whole premise behind our community store was so that clients could on general work skills and there is just not enough interest in the program to keep it open," said Jenny Backer, Access, Incorporated Executive Director.
The store opened in 1999 and was stationed in various spots before being relocated to the Main Street location three years ago.
Baker added that while clients will miss working at the store, many are excited to have found work in the community.
