“Fresh Enthusiasm” Hamptonite takes over as Healthy Harvest of North Iowa lead

Marie Boyd’s knowledge of the impact food has on a community has lead the Hampton resident to a leadership role to raise awareness of the resources in the area.
Boyd, of Hampton, was named the Executive Director for Healthy Harvest of New Iowa, a non-profit that works with food leaders across North Iowa to bring locally produced food to the communities it serves.
“I love the way that food can bring people together, especially when you talk about building a community,” said Boyd, who has been with Healthy Harvest of North Iowa for three years.
A native of the east coast, Boyd said that while she didn’t grow up around Iowa’s agriculture, she developed her appreciation of natural food and production through her participation in 4-H as a student and time spent on a friend’s farm.
